The International Down and Feather Bureau (IDFB) is a world-wide non-profit organization.
Their Membership includes individual country’s national associations within the Down and Feather industry. All members work together to better the global industry. As the Canadian not-for-profit Industry Association, we are proud to be a member! We represent all our Canadian industry members who are a part our organization. In addition, we volunteer with representatives on both the IDFB Technical Committee & Public Relations Committee and are a voting member sitting on its supervisory board. There are some individual companies who’s home countries do not have an association in place and therefore they are allowed to join individually, but most members have a direct country association that they are also connected with.
The IDFB commissioned a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) from an independent third-party, Long Trail Sustainability, who specializes in product-based sustainability analysis reports. The LCA evaluates the environmental impact of down vs synthetic fill.
The report provides an accurate picture of the true environmental trade-offs in product selection.
